The Free Journal Project
BRANDING, BOOKBINDING, SOCIAL PRACTICE
Over 100 hand-sewn journals were disbursed throughout the city of Philadelphia, anonymously left at coffee shops, educational institutions and community centers. The project aimed to make journal-keeping accessible and enjoyable while establishing a space for personal inspiration and creativity. Once a journal leaves the hands of the artist it becomes the user’s space entirely. The action is a transfer of space and a catalyst for personal reflection, inspiration and expression.
